A direct cremation or unattended funeral, is where the cremation happens with no present mourners. This is the only difference. At Reflection Funeralcare, every step prior to the cremation is the exact same as a traditional funeral, we will support your family every step of the way through their grief journey, we will look after you with compassion and care, the exact same way as we do for all our services.
This service is designed to provide simplicity during a challenging time for your family. It allows the family and friends to create a personal farewell when, where, and how they wish to do so.
A scheduled time for the cremation, will be arranged with your family allowing a moment of reflection and remembrance at their own pace, which often happens after the cremation date or when they have received your ashes back.

Your family will alert us of your passing using our in house 24/7 contact number, and you will come into our care, where you will be looked after personally in house, until your arranged cremation date, usually around 2-3 weeks, depending on registration waiting times.

Why are Direct Cremations more popular now?.

Many large corporate funeral companies are now advertising on TV, Internet, Radio, and by post, which is why they are becoming more popular. Some of these companies operate from over 200 miles away, using local funeral directors to collect your loved one, giving the illusion they are local — but they do not provide the local care!
Your loved one may remain at a local funeral director’s premises, for up to six weeks before a private van arrives to collect them.
TV & Internet funeral ﬁrms don’t offer local care.

You are then transported across the country to be stored and cremated far away from home, sometimes this is not in a funeral home.
